ok good. i can do HTML4 but not JavaScript.

DucTape, its similar to the regular powder toy community escept it focus's on engineering and electronics. and how is it a false sense of community? the main point of it is to help people and make stuff.

I guess false isn't the right word, unneeded is more fitting, Powder Toy already focuses largely on those things.

And just a tip, if you use CSS to its full potential, you don't need javascript. I like to avoid javascript whenever possible since a lot of people block it in their browsers. Your site should work fine without javascirpt, as well as with it, if you decide to use it. However, if you want a community orientided site, just use a CMS, it takes forever to code community features yourself.

Where not going to use js for styling. Some components like drop down menus require js.

I know, and it screws over anyone who doesn't like to run JS. Too many sites use dropdowns and provide nothing for non JS users. It's usually best to avoid JS stuff like that entirely, rather than have to code an alternate version of the menus. Besides, look at all the JS menu dropdowns on TPT website, there are none, and it works just fine.

That's why CSS is no substitute for js.
