this is a thres where you can tell us all about computer viruses and other technological failures that resulted in something really funny. Eg: a while ago a friend of mine gave me a usb and asked what was wrong with it, as i entered the file i saw that there were a lot of ddl (i think) files all about half a gigabyte, i thought this was strange so i exited it and looked at the properties of the usb. it was a simple 4 gb usb that was full to the brim with data. when i went back to the files i saw that there were none of the folders that were there originally, instead there was about 500 or so of these ddl's, i selected all and found out that with all of them combined they resulted in about 2.31 TERABYTES being stored on this poor usb. i thought it was a lost cause and threw it out since none could be deleted.
Did you at least try fsck or fdisk or something on it?
Like, did you do anything at all that would help in such a situation?
My computer has an overheating problem due to dust that has built up in the cooling system. Unfortunately, I cannot clean it out because the manufacturer (Toshiba) has built it in such a way that I would have to take the whole thing apart just to access the part that needs cleaning.
Not exactly computer-related,but technological failure nevertheless:
This other day, when I was using the microwave,I put in a dish, and I pressed 2 to cook for 2 minutes. But the display didn't change,so I kept pushing 2. Then I realized the microwave door was open.
Why don't you take it apart then? Unless you can't put it back together after you do...
i tried a lot of things, but it was copying these files at a ridiculous rate, also everytime i wanted to deldte one it said that it was being used for something else.
if i did it would just keep cloning these files. i saw no alternative.
also a question: my computer runs XP, it has 2 gb of RAM, an AMD X2 Dual core processer running at 2.41 GHz. can anyone tell me what year it is? (i know the answer but i am questioning your tech knowledge)
