Replying to your first post: SING should be very bright. Since matter is neither destroyed nor created, it's manifest that all the light "sucked" into the singularity should be percievable and very eminent.
However, since black hole singularities have an escape velocity greater than the speed of light, none of that light could escape, thus the singularity would appear black.
