I think he actually made a spelling error typing that..... I think he meant... "it is what it's supposed to be, Simon removed downvoting because it was abused"

The letters WAS are all quite close too each other on the keyboard...

i personally liked the dislike button, it was an anonymous way of telling people you hated their idea. how about we just implement it again, but put a limit on how many dislikes you could give in a set amount of time (e.g 5 dislikes for 1 day)

Then someone dislikes a single post 5 times... How about 5 dislikes within 24 hours(a day) but a dislike for only one person each out of 5. So you coulden't dislike a single post 5 times.(That would suck)

Without a downvote etiquette this won't work. Reddit's vote etiquette was that when the comment is off-topic and useless, then downvote. Upvote when the comment is thought-provoking, despite whether or not you personally like the idea.

A down vote button is a bad idea because when improperly used it's a __________ and also whenever someone goes to post something and someone else might not like it, the just down vote it. The problem with that is that the downvoting button was being.used to replace a helpful suggestion that could have easily fixed the issue. Here's and example:

Vladimir: I wuntz lotes off elements pls!!!!!!!
    [Downvote button is used] -1

The result of this situation is a pissed off troll who wasn't correctly told what he needed to fix about his post, so he continues with his poor decisions.

Vladimir: I wuntz lotes off elements pls!!!!!!
Joe: please do not request new elements in this fashion. Please read the rules and wiki before posting. There is also a searchbar here to assist you in finding your wanted item.

See, a situation like this is always better when the person verbally communicates a solution rather than downvoting.
