    Lets see...Checklist:

    Power Channels
    Heat transfer medium
    Cooling tower
    DEUT Condenser (Optional)
    Fuel Delivery system(Optional)
    Ignition Systems (Optional)
    Generator Module

That is the basics. It depends on the level of control you want to achieve and how small you want it to be.
But basically, just a box of Filt with DEUT in it activated by neutrons, will heat up water at other end of filt. That generates steam that can be used in generating power with conjunction with detector walls.

    Hope this helps.

Try to make something on the verge of melting down, so it was destroyable and awesome.

I did just that in the past. I learned all these the hard way during the process of making it:
    1. GLAS converts NEUT to detectable PHOT
    2. Pressure obeys the inverse-square rule- if things kept melting down, make it larger.
    3. A 1-px serrated surface on a 2-px backing absorbs lots of neutrons. Any gas will work just as well, but they tend to settle or be pushed about. So not recommended.
    4. BOYL's temp controls pressure if it is confined (It becomes a destroyable weak version of PUMP)
    5. PIPE is strong, resistant to inf temp and allows matter to pass through. (Generally one-way, but it can work both ways, only not as efficiently)
    6. INSL is indestructible as long as it does not contact lava or fire. In a 1-px layer it becomes a semipermeable membrane.
    7. Pressure waves create zones of extra high pressure in the process of reflecting off surfaces.
    8. The most important is a fail safe to vent DEUT/NEUT in the event of meltdown.
    9. During standard operating temperatures of the core, expect temperatures near to or even in excess of QRTZ's melting point depending on your reactor structure. So be careful when using meltable conductors/solids and never put them in proximity to INSL.

You can refer to the one I made. It's completely destroyable.

    Also, on conversion..
    1) GLAS creates PHOT from NEUT(Cherenkov Radiation)
    2) LCRY separates NEUT from PHOT(Only PHOT passes LCRY)
    3) INVS creates NEUT from PHOT(Conversion!)
    4) BIZS creates ELEC from PHOT(Conversion!)
    5) ELEC+NEUT creates HYDR, which can be pressurized and heated to create fusion.
=> ISOZ+DEUT reactors can do fusion(By having a BIZS shield somewhere accessible).
    The fusion project can be:
    1. ISOZ fission creates PHOT, passed through BIZS for electrons
    2. DEUT creates NEUT, heat and pressure.
    3. NEUT+ELEC creates HYDR which due to heat and pressure get fused to NBLE, CO2 and other.

    Power Channels
    - I dunno what he meant, but maybe it's the way power gets out of the factory?
    Heat transfer medium
    - The material you're gonna use to conduct heat for your generators(Usually heated water!)
    Cooling tower
    - To cool down the immense heat from the reactor, or to cool down the water vapour generated by the heating.
    DEUT Condenser (Optional)
    - To cool down DEUT to 0K and to fill it with other DEUT particles, as to make it extremely volatile.
    Fuel Delivery system(Optional)
    - To get the DEUT from a storage tank to the reactor.
    Ignition Systems (Optional)
    - To start the DEUT reaction(PCLN lasers firing through INVS!) in whichever way.
    Generator Module
    - However you're gonna use the power generated by DEUT, by collecting neutrons and Cherenkov-ing them to photons? Or by heating water and detector'ing the water vapour to simulate turbines? Or whatever your brain comes up with.
