i know we have drag, already, but its rather uneven. maybe we could have a new tool: LEAD (not the element). this leads a chosen particle slowly, medium, or rapidly towards your mousecursor as long as you hold it in. to choose a particle you can click on it, or you can adjust the side of the crosshair to mark more particles.
example
you have a WALL on the bottom of the simulationwindow, and you place some bomb there. you pick ''LEAD'' and click one or more bomb particle (more can be chosen by f.ex holding SHIFT). now, theres a metal platform in the middle of the simulation window. you place your mouse cursor on the top of the simulation window, and hold the cursor. the bomb now travels towards your mouse cursor. the bomb explodes on the metal platform. if you moved the mousecursor while holding it in, the bomb would move towards the direction of the mouse cursor.
this could be a usefull tool, seeing as the ''drag'' tool we have now just uses velocity to move the elements (making some elements fall down to oblivion if moved to quickly.
to toggle the speed of the LEAD, use the Page Up and Page Dn.
a comment said i should name 3 uses for this tool, i'd be happy to ^-^
1.) easily, steadily and safely move about material of your choosing (tagging the material before being able to move it)
2.) provide a possible easy transport of either schematics or structures around a map (if the solid shape of f.ex METL or WOOD is kept normaly when moved about)
3.) give a revolutionary tool for people to use throughout the simulator.
i dont really get the point of stating 3 points of new materials... i mean, if you look at f.ex CONV, it only has 1 use... making material it touches into the material it touched the first. f**k logic...
Already suggested and reacted cause it wouldn't have much uses, also like the other's said use postive gravite tool and negative gravity tool (yeah I know they suck)
all im stating is that this game needs a decent move tool, that DOESNT drop particles and can be safely used. this has LOTS of uses; its one of the basics to sandboxgames. moving items.
lets say, im gonna make a deuterium bomb. i cool down the DEUT in a separate metal container, away from the container which will hold the bomb. now i wanna move the deut ive cooled down into my container (which is also at -273 degrees.) but, oh bummer, im going to have to copy it over with ctrl + C and then paste it in the container, BUT OH BUMMER, the copy tool only functions in a square mesh; there is no way i can paste it freely around the simulator.
get it?
this is a free moving tool, which is accurate, and doesnt drop items.
I have no clue why you guys are being such negative trolls about this idea, seeing theres every reason for putting it in the simulator, but ofcourse, you all want to show off how better knowing and how well developed you are in the skill of this game and this community to others. i understand, i really do, but for fucks sake, give some positive feedback to an idea, for ONCE.
