DLIF, DTMP, DVX, DVY, DTEM (And Others)

There are several different values that every element has - type, ctype, temperature, life, tmp, vx and vy.
The type is what the element is - WATR, DUST, etc.
The ctype is kind of like a secondary type - CLNE(OIL), STOR(STNE), etc.
The temperature is obviously the temperature.
The tmp and life are just numbers that have different uses for different elements.
The vx and vy values control how PHOT, NEUT and other moving particles act.

Most of these are pretty difficult to change without using the console, so I think there should be elements and tools that allow you to control them.

    Elements (all solids):

DLIF - The life value of anything within 2 pixels of it is increased by the value of the DLIF's temperature. The temperature can be set to negative to take away life. In order to prevent glitches, it shouldn't work on SPRK, DLAY, METL other electronics.
    1. Extends the life of BRAY, PHOT, FIRE, etc.
    2. Heals/damages STKM

DTMP - Same as DLIF, except that it changes the elements' tmp values.
    1. Expands/condenses MERC.

DTEM - Increases the temperature of everything touching it based on its life value. (A method to change the life value easily is mentioned later in this post)
    1. Heats/cools elements more efficiently than GOL or any other element.

DVX and DVY - Changes the VX and VY values, respectively, of nearby elements based on the DVX/DVY's temperature value.
    1. Faster lasers
    2. Faster pipe

CCNV - Ctype converter. Works like CONV, except it changes elements' ctypes instead of their types.

If you're wondering, the 'D' in all the element names stands for "delta", meaning change.

    Tools

These should change the values of any element, similar to how HEAT/COOL changes their temperature values.

LIF+ Increases the element's life value
LIF- Decreases the element's life value
    TMP+ Increases tmp
    TMP- Decreases tmp
    VX+ Increases vx
    VX- Decreases vx
    VY+ Increases vy
    VY- Decreases vy

Also, there should be a tool called CTYP.
When selected with left-click, it will change the ctype of anything into the element that is right-clicked in the menu.
When selected with right-click, it will change the ctype of anything into the element that is left-clicked in the menu.

Let me know what you think!

PROP tool does all of this and it's in a GUI so you can type it and get a more accurate result. Check out the beta

That would only work for the tools. All of the element suggestions can't be done with PROP.

    DRAGONF0RCE:

But the element suggestions are rather pointless though. There's not really a use for an element which lowers the tmp (which, I might add, your suggestion for MERC condensing can be achieved by a cooling plant.)

Yes, but the expansion and contraction of MERC is limited by its tmp value. Besides, those were just suggestions.

Also, the heater element would be EXTREMELY useful. GOL can only heat to 8600 degrees, and can't operate at more than 50% efficiency because of the way it generates heat.

The DVX/DVY could easily speed photons up without messing up gravity, and provide a way to move SPNG without the console.

Besides, you shouldn't say they're all bad because the DTMP doesn't have many uses. I just added it because I wanted to make the list complete.

A heater/cooler takes all the fun out of making a heater/cooler. I can make a laser hit the max temp using GOL and PLSM. It's easy.
Gravity, also, is used to speed up PHOT without screwing up solid objects that people use as targets, making it the near-perfect thing to use.

    @ Neo Spector

It DOES NOT take the fun from making a Heater/Cooler, His suggestion allows you to do it easier.

With that being said, if it did make it into the game then you would have 2 ways of making a Heater/Cooler

    1. The EASY WAY

    or

    2. The HARD WAY

So don't automatically assume that a new element will take the fun out of doing something, because technically ---> It Won't. If it did take the un out of the game, then that would mean taking out all possible elements that can be used to make what ever you are trying to make, and that me friend ----> Is not going to happen ever, I'm sure of it!

Your argument is now invalid, You were just ***** my good sir!
Learn from what I just told you please! XD

    @ DRAGONF0RCE

Keep up the good work dude, one day some of our elements will make it in. If we figured out and coded some of our elements, it will increase our chances of them making it into the game! Awesome Ideas by the way! + 1 per element/tool

Like with FILT we took the fun out of coloured lasers.
Or like with Wi-Fi we took the fun out of electronics.
If we had elements for all the things we'd take creativity out of the game! D:
