OmegaSupreme's idea could work if they put in an option to turn it on/off, similar to ambient heat and Newtonian gravity.

What about just add an option like "spark frequency:[ 8 ]frame (8 in default)" or something

I think this is actually unique. Reading the initial post, I don't think it's been suggested before. Good job, and I think it could be incredibly useful.

Then make your logic also in WIRE.

Faster wire is the worst bug in TPT. The switch did that before. But now it doesn't, because of that much glitches(if a spark was on the switch when it was turned off, it turned on again etc)

@boxmein WIRE is defined by a specific set of rules (kind of like how GOL works) so this idea doesn't apply to it.

Also, you could just not use it with SWCH if that causes a glitch, or someone could find a way to fix it.

    mniip:

Then we shud improve everything, make fast switch, fast pscn, nscn, ptct, ntcn, wire, inst etc

    exactly.

do you really think Simon will bother to make everything faster? besides, from past discussions and roomors, I believe he is interested in "voltage".

Not to complain but there's nothing really wrong with the current electronics system. Making all the electric automata faster in every element without breaking things that would be painful to fix might not be doable.

Making it slower might, but at the moment the slow speed is to ensure that things don't loop over on themselves. Have you ever tried sparking bubble water? :P
