    Its not only lag.
    After trying to smelt a wood to get coal i got a saving chunks screen and this file on desktop:

    This is NOT 1.8. Its the prerelease.
    Also, a quick fix for you that fixes that annoying bug.

    Yeah I noticed the whole lag thing. Hopefully it wont be the same when 1.8 is actually released.
