NOT having a heater/cooler is dumb

Yeah there's stuff like don't post heater/cooler suggestion but that's arbitrary.

First of all GOL ESPECIALLY when acting as a cooler is USELESS. I set off a nuclear reactor that goes 9000C and my stationarey GOL (which is SUPPOSED TO BE as cold as possible) is not an effective cooler. I mean not only does it not cool the target area, it itself GETS HEATED! The problem with GOL is it not only sends cold to the target, but it itself GETS HEATED (when the target is hot enough).

We really need SOMETHING that NO MATTER the temperature of its surroundings, it will NOT have its own temperturature effected by its surroundings, but ONLY impart a temperature TO its surroundings. So seven when the surroundings are at Max Temp, it will itself stay at a frigged absolute 0K (-293C), thus GREATLY assisting in the cooling of its surroundings. One practical use is in stopping the meltdown of my nuclear reactor by keeping the reactor's walls frozen solid even when the nuclear reaction inside goes up to 9000C.

GOL + DMND works pretty well.

Okay, you probably read what simon said about using GOL heaters/coolers, the problem with that is that the GOL is 9000+ degrees.

For a heater, look at what catelite did with the 'mimic melt refinery'

the way it works is that you heat a powder until it melts into lava, it then passes through a wall that only allows liquids and conducts to another conductor below. The temperature will be just about exactly the melting point of that powder.

Now, a better way to cool is to use clone and CFLM in a box of void.

In short:be smart and find a better solution (not trying to flame anyone -.-)

Uhh, an element for arbitrary heating and cooling isn't happening. If you can't figure out how to do it with GOL, which is by far the best sensible way of doing so at the moment, then you're probably doing something wrong.

Mind that uranium in a nuke produces 10000 temperature constantly no matter how much cooling there is.

I never understood the rule against heaters/coolers. Is it because it would make it "too easy" to do certain things, and thus would become a "cheating" element?

No, because if you can't deal with 30 seconds worth of work you should't really have a right to have a life.

We already have plenty of cheating elements, like Pump, Switch, and Diamond.

Would you suggest we make an "EASY" element that just does everything for you so you don't have to learn yourself?

...Besides that, an element that can't absorb heat from others and remains at absolute zero no matter what wouldn't be noticably more efficient than GOL at abs zero.

GOL does absorb heat, but it cools at an exponential rate. Let me correct you by saying "having a heating/cooling element is dumb".

use wall instead of gol since it is pretty much stationarey lol
