You should be able to speed up the simulation rate so you don't have to wait for long reactions

Would take a MASSIVE amount of effort to make this possible. Cause the game would need to calculate what happens in 2-3 frames instead of 1. I guess its possible but would be extremely laggy.

That would pretty much defeat the purpose of speeding it if it were to be laggy lol.

    Still. Thats what would happen.

Or you could fill things with air to speed up pressure reactions and things with heat/cool for temp reactions.
Things like mixing two elements (Spark+noble gas=plasma) you have to place things in key locations to maximize time.
Timing is key in most sims, so most probably wont want to ruin it.

The simulation already runs at the maximum speed allowed by the hardware it is running on.

i actually agree with this but they are right. it would lagg a lot. i know itr coz on the powder game there was a time increaser. it would just decrease :P

It would lag and make it the exact same speed as if theres no increased speed.

Burning Sand 2 played at HUNDREDS of frames per second, then when you turned on fast motion, it moved at THOUSANDS of frames per second, and you could see all of them without it frame skipping

Different codes. I believe burning sand is either java or c#.
