    They should build a permanent moon base. Our future lies in space, the moon is good practice.

    indeed. They would have to make a large settlement though, to provide for themselves because earth can't schedule trips for food that often.

    Fortunately, the moon is nearby, so if something went wrong, it is far safer on the moon than on Mars. But, even if it takes a long time, colonizing the moon is worth it.

    the Lunar Night lasts 2 weeks. we need reactors while the solar panels are unavailable.

    Since the judgment day is supposedly may 21, and the whole earth is meant to be destroyed on October 21, what happens to the astronauts in the international space station?

    And how is the world supposed to end in 2012 if it ends on saturday?
    poor astronauts.

    Coal, nuclear, we can find something. and we don't have to worry about lunar greenhouse effect, CO2 goes into orbit around the sun. And we need space bases in case Earth's population gets blasted out of existence.
