"As we were retreating from a battle we just lost, the truck right in front of us begins swirving around, before flipping over. The comander orders me and Victor to get out and see if there's any survivors in the truck that just flipped over.

The thought of having to see another dead body gives me chills and I began to feel dizy, almost throwing up, but before the comander could ask me what was wrong, I was already out of the truck, with Victor right behind me. He pulls out a stick of dynamite, lights it and sticks it into the padlock of the truck.

    1...

    2...

    3!!!

As my ears begin to ring from the deafining bang of the explosion, Victor goes in, right before running back out and vomiting into some bushes right behind the transport. I don't dare to look in, Victor was perfectly fine and even he threw up, I was already feeling ill. That's when a thought crosses my mind...

That's the truck Kiliari was in.

I breathe in and gaze into the door, before staring right back out.

HOLY SH*T! Bring the medics! Bring anyone! I yell to the comander of my unit.

What was inside the truck was undescribable, a plane crash-landed staight on top of the truck's roof, spreading shrapnel everywhere. There were bodies impaled to walls with metal bars, people with their heads severed and burning, soldiers holding eachother as they were about to get the kiss of death.

A medic comes up to me and pulls me into the truck, the pungent smell of death and decay is overwhelming, so I put my gasmask back on and after the medic passes me some surgical gloves, I begin to dig through the wall of corpes looking for anything that could have survived. As I was begining to lose hope on finding anything, I feel something squirm behind a corpse. It was a little girl, being tightly held by Kiliari, who must have been trying to protect her. I grab the girl and she was crying so hard... I tried to comfort her, but the sounds of gunfire, moaning and planes zooming by made it almost impossible.

Give her to me, you take care of your friend. Said a voice from behind me, it was Victor.

Thank you... Take care of her! I say back, before turning to Kiliari.

He was covered in blood, I check his pulse, pretty weak, but he was still alive. I grab him and place him on my shoulders, before taking him outside, where it began to rain. My unit built a make-shift hospital for the wounded. It was a terrible sight, but not as bad as the truck. I notice Jack wanting to go in and grab him by his arm and telling him:

    Don't. Go. In.

He realizes its a bad idea and helps me carry Kiliari to the hospital. I lay him on a stretcher and notice that all the medics were occupied doing something else. I check Kiliari's pulse... Even weaker than before... Sh*t.

Jack gets out a first-aid kit from his backpack, this guy has everything inside his bag.

I open it and look in... There were lots of stuff inside, but one caught my eye, it was a blue, slighty glowing capsule, no bigger than 5 mm. It was a nanite, a substance that could stop bleeding and heal all wounds within a short amount of time. These things were very hard to make and even harder to find, but Jack allows me to use his. I place it inside the syringe and stab it into his abdomen, before pushing the glowy substance in, minutes later, he opens his eyes and the wounds begin to go away, leaving only small scars behind.

I pat him on the back and he rises to his feet. Then the little girl runs to him and hugs hm around the legs, since he was much taller than her.

Thank you so much, sir. She says to him."

"Kiliari, Jack, Victor and the girl are all in bed. But I can't sleep. Everytime I try to close my eyes paranoia rushes through me, that's when I feel something in my stomach, like a bang. I feel it again and rush to the bathroom, where I puke. I look in the mirror, oh dear... My face is all pale and my pupils are begining to dilute. My hands begin shacking and I fall onto the floor... I get knocked out once my head hits the concrete floor. I get woken up by a stiff wind blowing across my face. I get up, still clenching my stomach, what is wrong with me? I must have caught some sort of illness from the battlefield or something. I try to walk out of the bathroom, but after the first steps, I trip and fall again, knocking over a small vase of its table.

I try to get up, but my arms are too weak to push myself up. Thankfully, the girl heard me and got up, her scream woke up the rest of the guys.

Oh crap! Mortem! Says Jack, before rushing over to my limp body, but I push him away.

    D-don't t-t-touch me... If it's c-contagious you're g-going to get it too... I tell to him.

Kiliari gets up and goes to get a doctor.

I begin to choke on something. I try to cough it out, but nothing comes out but a weak gargle before I pass out yet again..."

"I slowly creek open my eyes and whiteness and brightness overwhelms them. I try to look away, but my neck is stiff as a wooden board. Is this Hell? Is this Heaven? Did I finally die?

Thinking I was dead, although terrifing, relieved me a little bit, knowing that the Hell on Earth that was war is finally over.

A portrait fades into my vision, then another, another, another, soon there was an entire wall of paintings. It was all portarits of men and women that died to war. I saw many people, some that I knew, some that I don't, but one in particular caught my eye. It was me.

A hooded figure fades into sight, that is slowly getting closer to me. As soon as he was about to touch me, something pulls me away from the hooded man.

I creak my eyes slowly, and the pain is all gone, although my body feels numb. I try to look around, before noticing a bunch of blood-stained medical tools on a tray next to me, and a line of stiches on my abdomen. I slowly rise up to my feet and take a few steps. My legs feel stiff and tired, but not enough to hinder me from walking. As I slowly try to straighten my back, two men in biohazard uniforms enter the room and grab me by the arms. One of them pulls out a walkie talkie from his pocket:

Subject has been confirmed clear. Preparing decontamination process. He says.

They take me out of the room to a small chamber then tell me to close my eyes. To pumps come out of the walls of the chamber and begin spraying my body with bleach and claurine. Once that is over, I take a seat and the same biohazard guy comes to me and begins injecting a crap-ton of antibiotics into my arm. After a few minutes, they zap me with a data-colector.

Subject has been confirmed disinfected, no signs of the virus visible. Subject is clear to go. The man says yet again into his walkie talkie.

The two men take me to a room where they allow me to have my clothes back, they smell of bleach and claurine as well, but that is not bothering me. I just escaped death.

When I enter my barracks again, every soldier was waiting with a gasmask on, even the little girl had one.

Guys, it alright. I'm fine! I say to them, before the rest of my sentence is drowned in cheering.

Kiliari is with the girl, who is named Caroline apperently. I realize I never introduced myself to her, so I tell her who I am. She seems to recognize me from when I dug her and Kiliari out of the pile of corpses, even though I had both a gasmask AND those goggles on. She tells Kiliari that I was the one who saved them.

Kiliari tells me of his vision of the battle, I first think he's insane or something, but I then remember of my vision and tell him about that one. Right as I was about to leave and go get a shower to wash that potent smell of bleach off, I notice the girl cuddling with her teddy bear, who had one eye missing. I offer to patch it up and she gladly agrees. I take a button from one of my old shirts and some string and a needle. It looked pretty well done to me once it was finished, even though one of his eyes was green and the other brown, the girl still thought it looked cute.

The girl apperantly went to a terapitst that night to get the images of blood and guts flying everywhere out of her head, I would have joined her, but I couldn't. Instead we had another rum party while the girl was away to celebrate that I'm not dead. The official peace treaty will be signed in about a week, so let's hope that I wont get messed up my illness again."

My name was Zanroth, but I changed my name to Graviton, because Zanroth was a terrible person. I called myself Graviton because I was an expert at gravity controlling. With the junk left below the horrible skylands, I built myself a mech that had a gun that shoots a gravity beam which could telekinetically move whatever it hits (of course, it does have limits) and also has a tungsten sword which has a sort of toaster mechanism which heats it up to 334 degrees maximum. I also had an undersized robotic dog named Tilda, and it was the mechanical version of a Jack Russel (a breed of dog. PS this is the name, breed and size of my dog in real life!)

Another player?! Is this real life?! O.o

"I wake up and still slightly dizzy, almost trip and fall onto my face. Good thing the loud russian accent of the unit's comander woke me up just enough so as not to trip on the empty rum bottle on the floor. He told me and a few others to gear up. I shook sleep out of my eyes, put on my gear and grabbed my rifle, which I nick-named Reaper. Kiliari stayed in the Barracks, since he was allowed to stay to take care of Caroline.

We boarded a truck and went towards one of the many cities that were bombed to total Hell. We had to stay on gurad in the main plaza. I took a position on top of a few wooden boxes filled with potatoes. I had a comfy chair passed to me and I began overlooking the war-torn plaza.

Although the war ravaged to city like a hurricane, life continued to exist even with the gloomy threat of destruction. Merchants were selling goods, children were going to school, police keeping the situation under control... It was the first glance I've had at an actual working civilization in weeks.

I notice a man selling some stuff in the corner of my eye. I notice that soldiers were shopping around the market, so if everyone does it, it's okay, right? I go up to himand begin looking at what he's selling. Junk, junk, junk, some sort-of cool stuff that's way too expensive, more junk... Something catches my eye. It was a metal piece with a bunch of buttons of it. He allows me to take it for a test. I press one of the buttons, then suddently a glowing beam of blue-ish light comes out of the upper ed of the metal piece. It was a badass light sword. I had some experience with swords before, so after tossing it around a bunch, I decide it loks good enough and buy it. Only 50KI, that's pretty cheap for something so nice.

I go back to my post and grab a book from one of my comrades. "Rocket science for dummies". Hm, not exactly my field of experities, but it's something. I always wanted to know how rockets work as a child, but then I suddently got engaged in robotics, so this was the perfect chance to finally learn how to build a DIY rocket.

Halfway through the book, a deafining bang rings in my ears:

HAWLY SHIIIET. I yell, not knowing what was going on.

I lift my eyes from the book and notice a huge cloud of smoke in the plaza. It was almost impossible to see through it, but I rememebered my cyber-eye. I had heat vision with it so I could see through the thick smoke. I wish I would have just forgotten about it.

People were running trough the smoke, some dropped to the ground as their heat signitures got lower and lower. They were all trying to get away from a large crater in the middle of the plaza. I put on my gasmask and rush to the crater along with some other soldiers. The sight was horrifing. A mortar shell dropped in the middle, killling some and injuring many.

I quickly rush to a person who got hit by some shrapnel from the explosion. He was hit in the chest, with some of the things I got from the army, I managed to give him a quick scan. Sharpnel pierced his lung and broke 2 ribs. I grab him and carry him outside the smoke cloud, to a medic. As soon as I handed it to him, our comander yells through our ear-piece.

TAKE COVER! WE'RE UNDER ATTA-. Before it cut off, leaving only white noise.

I hide behind one of the boxes of potatoes. And bullets zoom through the air into the plaza, downing who knows how many people. While the bullets stopped coming, I pop my head out from behind the box and line my sights on what looked like a machine-gunner in the window of a house. With one shot, I must have hit a grenade on his belt or something, since the entire room he was hidding in blew up.

As they were confused, I line the sights on another guy, downing him with 2 shots. Another guy, another kill. I had like 4 kills until they spotted me and 5 until they started shooting. While they were firing at me, Some guy throws a smoke grenade right behind me, covering my position in white smoke and allowing me to escape. I get out of there and sneak behind a small group of waiting soldiers, I try to load my rifle, but it gets jammed, sh*t. I should clean it more often. I remember my sword and even though I had pretty much no experience with it, I decided it was worth the risk. I turn it on and lash at one of the 3 dudes, cutting his lower abdomen he falls to the ground, I turn to the other 2 and with one flick of my hand, slice one of the guy's throats.

But I was too late for the other guy, he punches my hand and the sword goes flying into a desk, just out of my reach. He puts a gun to my head and tells me to say my last wishes.

As I was about to ask for a last cigarrette, the guy's head turns into red mist, spraying me with blood. The soldier who saved me was... Kiliari? What was he doing here? I grab my sword and un-jam my rifle and go with Kiliari and another squad to push the enemy out of the city.

    (continue here)"

"After Kiliari told me that he has a bad feeling about us going here, I shrug it off and tell him that he's just getting paranoid. He informs me that the goggles can play music if you press some buttons around the ears. I realize that they do, so I put on some Indila (don't judge). It was pretty nie to hear a relaxing song, even though I had to turn it down because I had to listen to orders and such. We were going through an alley as a shortcut to the Town Hall. Moments after we leave the alley, one of the soldiers points at the sky, to a rocket zooming through the air, it dropped into the Main Plaza, leaving nothing but a 1 second flash and a pillar of black smoke where we were just at a few minutes ago.

A few soldiers drop off and run back to the plaza to see what happened, and we just continued to walk to the Hall. A few streets away, we get a message blasted through out radio:

TAKE COVER! THE ENEMY IS BOMBING THE CITY!

I grab Kiliari and a few other guys and run to a subway tunnel. Everyone was inside and I kept a close eye on the outside, to make sure that the entrance wouldn't cave in and when the bombing stopped, thank goodness the doors didn't collapse. I poke my head out from behind the cover and notice that the rest of the squad took shelter in a house and was unharmed.

We continue to go through the deserted streets to the Town Hall. We reach it and there were no enemies, I ask one of the captains who were around and he tells me:

Da Hell you talkin' 'bout kid? D' enamy left hours ago! He says through his thick cowboy accent.

Well, there goes the battle, I take Kiliari and tell him that he was being paranoid for no reason.
We board the truck and go back to the barracks. One of the comanders takes me to the R&D division, since he heard of my skills as a scientist. It was far more homely there, with all the test tubes and robots and science stuff. I come back to Kiliari a few hours later, who was playing with Caroline. I give the little girl a gift, a small robot I made myself, with some leftover scrap metal and some circuits I had lying around. She thought it was cute and called it a robot dog, although I had a cat in mind."

My name is cccp3. I'm a human engineer. I have 500Ki, few wrenches, basic stuff.

Hmm, wait a minute.. isn't this thingy on the ground a motherboard from 2001? that is some 395 year old tech!

man, the pentium 386's have only 100 MHz of clock freq? Now my beeping-thing transciever I built in 2370 is transmitting at 100 THz! soo wait a minute.. what is here at 8 kHz? Oh.. the data transmitter protocol used for 100TB/sec transfer by the Mars colony... with a 15TW reciever so strong that this can be heard from the Andromeda Galaxy! 100TB/s is so fast that can transmit 100,000,000 copies of my dna (just acgtacgttagcctag ... ...) in one milisecond

hmm, i should get a job.

(Goes to an engineering facility somewhere)

Ok. I have 500 KI from my job, so I have some 1000 KI.

I come home and do my stuff, then:

I Tune in at 18.358985987805 THz- freq. of Killiari's earpiece (audio coded in weird digital FORMAT)

    (hooks up decoder board)

(uses computer that sits on the ground as a programming device and programs it)

    (listens...)

"We're under atta-(whitenoise as my decoder board shorted out for a moment) Hide!"

I rush to their hideout, engineering up a suit from carbon fiber plates the skycities have left behind, and go to Killiari's hideout.

I say "hey who are you"
