    just because its an old element, that doesn't mean that it can't be changed. wood should burn like coal because it practically is an older version of wood.

    Doesn't DMND turn into CO2 in real life when exposed to an electrical arc?

    Yes it does. There's a thing called "legacy protection" not to change old elements because of the masses of saves that will be broken. Pretty much, when the element has been around for 10 or so versions, it can't be changed because it's used that much.
    Also, WOOD was here from the start, it's not only an "old" element, but an "ancient" one. It will never change.
