i'm guessing your new to the internet?
create a photo bucket account and upload your picture.it then gives you a url for the picture.you can the paste the url in image tags to display the picture.get it? -

Also you can use [ img ] URL [ /img ]
And when you upload an image to imgur.com, it gives you a forum code to post it here, you don't even need to do anything -
First, you upload an image by using Imgur(the easiest and most common option), it's quite straightforward.
Second, select the "Direct Link"(It looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/tPLXy.png) and then paste it into these tags:
<img src="Direct Link">
Or,
First you select an image by right-clicking it and selecting "Copy image address"
Second, you paste the link into the tag below.

Also: To make < > without them turning into HTML tags, use < (less than) and > (greater than)
