I was also thinking maybe sound effects, lol. But again, everytime you placed down some fire you would hear 'BBRRRRRRRRRVVVVVV' or an explosion: 'PPPPPFFFFFF!' and that's not only difficult to script but too annoying.
If this was ever implemented there should be an option to turn it off or on. And it would actually make the sound stop simulating, not just not play the sound. This way if someone dosen't like the way something sounds they don't have to listen to it.
