I don't see a reason why it should be the way you listed it. Realistic? So what.
I think that the URAN element in the game is meant to represent either unenriched, or depleted uranium, which are not fissile, but certain nuclear reactor designs can use them, by fissioning the small amount of U-235 present, and breeding the U-238 into plutonium. This is probably why URAN in TPT heats up under pressure.
Yes, I also believe that URAN should not be changed. I like how it behaves more like U-238, giving us a creative way to use pressure to heat things. And as for those who want URAN to be fissile, I suggested a new element called U235 awhile back that would have behaved like enriched uranium. However, it got buried under other threads, so not many TPT users seem to be interested in fissile uranium. I would suggest just living with it.
If there was realism, tpt would be boring and saves would be broken. Take deut for an example. Deut irl is not reactive with neutrons or can be compressed into a single particle.
And no gpmp...and cray....and aray.....and 80 percent of our elements too? Also........you don't have to break a bunch of saves, just switch the color and name.....so no broken saves! But yes, realism sucks....in TPT.
Edit: Whats the point of enriched uranium when you have plutonium? None. So stick with it.
Edit: I was going to do a thread a bit like this, not really, but now i know uranium AND plutonium fiss so.....
