    Smoke is the normally referred to as a byproduct of a combustion reaction.

     

    i.e. it can be anything released from fire.

     

    for e.g:

    methane or CH4+O2=  CO2 + 2 H2O 

    Or ethanol:CH3CH2OH + O2 = 4 CO2 + 6 H2O

    However, because only anti-matter is the only thing that converts pure matter into pure energy (100% conversion of matter into energy), most of the fuels we have today only release small amounts of energy despite their mass. A gram of matter and a gram of anti-matter is the order of the bomb dropped on Hiroshima.
