The negative pressure is only needed to FORM vibranium. Other than that, it doesn't have any functions or abilities in a vacuum.

this is a truly great idea; plenty of uses, sounds really cool and you've set it out really well. I hope it gets added, because you've clearly put slot of work into this idea and it seems appreciated by everyone else here.

It seems neat enough, though I was just talking to cracker about this earlier. An element that absorbs pressure to make heat would be like a zero-pressure pump in the form of URAN solid, though it could be managed differently.

Personally I'd suggest making it prettier. :P
