Minecraft has dominated my life for the past week (or what semblance of a life I have after studying). My roommate and I have a tiny little server that we have just begun to craft.
When I open minecraft page I see server is broken for weekend, because too much people open this site. And there are to download alpha versions. I still can download it, http://www.minecraft.net/download.jsp I don't know you can download.
You need to unzip it and put the folder into your AppData/Roaming folder. This can found by simply holding Windows-Key+R and typing %APPDATA% into the resulting box and pressing enter. Once you put .minecraft into the Roaming folder, navigate to it and open up Minecraft.exe.
Fantastic. Whoopee. Not everyone got it on the free to play weekend.
Just buy the game its 10 euros , the best deal of my life i could say.
The server crashed because like 100.000 people buyed the game in less then 1 days and he offered like 4 days of free playtime for everyone even if you didn't own the game. And you can still play it in single player but you ain't gonna get any updates, and the best part of this game is the SMP ( Survival Multiplayer) You connect to a server with about 30-60 players that can each build towns , tade between and what not , in 1-2 weeks Mobs will be fully functional in SMP and players will have to work together to survive the hard nights of minecraft. Also everyone can make his own dedicated server and play with his friends in the same world.
