This is a very old problem. Generally speaking, it isn't possible for creative things to spin out of old versions of the game perpetually, and exciting and interesting things will become increasingly rare as time passes.

Rather, the most popular things will, probably, remain being mechanics and electronics, with a small side of pixel art.


...Short of just removing redundant things, which is only slightly unfair to random people who own them, there's nothing anyone can do about this besides wait for newer versions for easier-to-exploit new things :P
