I want to make a nuke reactor on my own, and seeing some of the others, i get a small idea, but a little help on how to make one? what is better using uranium or plutonium? this thread is also to help others who want to make a nuke reactor. how to make it realistic?

If you want a challenge: I always thought about using water as a moderator as it slows down neutrons.

If you can find a way to regulate the number of Neutrons in a Plutonium reactor without an explosion, that would grant you some green votes, I guess.

Black hole? or void might do it.

Sure, that works too. But you want to keep the reaction going without causing an explosion. The regulation of the neutron density is the challenge.

I once made a nuke reactor in PT classic by using clone to produce PLUT in a square, open chamber of wall. To start the reaction, I used an electrically-triggered neutron gun. The entire bottom of the chamber was e-wall to allow the lava produced during the reaction to be dumped. It produced elctricity by channeling the neutrons produced to a block of detector.

Sounds good. I think the current 'fashion' of reactors is starting to be exhausted. We should try new techniques. Think I will play around with that thought some more in the next days.

I don't even care, all reactors produce the same amount of power when you attach a wire.

I'm currently working on a nuke reactor concept that uses white hole to pressurize PLUT to the point of fission with small amounts of PLUT being periodically injected to keep the reaction going.

you need more than 250 pixels of plutonium to create a pressure fission reaction that will be spontaneous and cause a melt
