I made a comet strike.  307585View Save 307585  Although it may not sound deadly compared to a meteor, if a comet struck Earth this very moment, it would blow the atmosphere off.

The-Con:there have been no NASA predictions of stars exploding close to us.  It's already exploded the radiation just needs to travel a long distance to reach us.

I think people have predicted that the world will end when a gamma ray that exploded from a nearby stellar mass will swipe the earth atmosphere.
