I'm sure in real-life a black hole would be unaffected by acid, it is a bug and has been fixed for version 36.

JowM While the powder toy doesn't use the .Net framework, it may help to have either version 3.5 or 4.0

Those old builds were build with MinGW on Linux, the newer version are Built with Visual C++. Have you tried installing the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtimes (Both 2008 and 2010)?
