@nippy no, i really want to @the_new_powder99999 the only times airhaven has lightning problems
-
are when airships come in to dock, and when these same ships dock on ground cities. as it is above the clouds it isn't affected by the static built up in them (which all moves into the ground instead of striking arehaven because it isn't grounded), when a ship flies through the clouds it builds up a
-
negative charge and if treated improperly this could arc when the ship came in to dock. to counter this, airhaven hooks a metal cord to the front of the envelope before the magnetic docking clamps engage in order to discharge the static safely. this causes the town to build up a negative charge
-
over time which arcs from the lightning condensor on the lowest point of the town (the lower air traffic control 'tower') through the clouds and into the ground. unfourtunately this discharge is much more powerfull than regular lightning because is has to go farther and so causes damage to the
-
condensor which must be replaced on a regular basis. the international space station has the same problem when shuttles come in to dock. i do not know how they solve it as electricity cannot arc in a vaccum.
-
have you read the leviathan series of books. they are like mortal engine.
-
This would probably get hit by lightning a lot, but the strikes would be smaller than normal ones.

@Voyager15 i asked the mayor for you; he said no... @nippy the jenny isn't here because in all honesty i am having trouble designing her to fit with both the books and how i picture her... i might start a competition to see who can make the best version...
