    you can think of it as like standby cooling, you should be using the steam generators and the RHR to cooldown the reactor core when shutting down.

    however if your heat exchangers clog and you still desire to continue using it, you just need to remove the salt from them and wait for it to cool down

    RHR is to be used for when the reactor is shutdown and like not at 350C or however high your operating it at. I would start it at around 100-250C, otherwise the cooling water will boil and clog the heat exchanger as you described.

    is it normal for RHR to effectively permanently fail if used at high temps? because you used saltwater when it gets too hot it boils blocking the RHR with salt

    ok so, auxilliary feedwater revamp, it will autostart currently only on a reactor trip, there is also main steam isolation which will automatically isolate on LOCA signals
