another thing, once you stop steaming entirely, close all opened main steam valves and shut the MSIVs -
dornog70 1st Dec 2025to shutdown>trip the reactor, close turbine valve and MSR valve and open bypass valve>cool down to ~200-250C (you can use steam dump to quickly cool down)>start shutdown cooling>50-100C RCS temperature = reactor cold shutdown

dornog70 1st Dec 2025to startup: turn off shutdown cooling (SDC)>withdraw rods to maintain temperature 350-370C>concurrently, open MSIV once steaming and then MSR and bypass valves>after the MSR outlet is steam (and above 100C), open the turbine valve and close bypass valve. Control rods to maintain temperature.

dornog70 28th Nov 2025MSIV is done, it will now automatically isolate upon LOCA signals or manual signals. I might add a second outboard valve in the turbine building

dornog70 28th Nov 2025ECCS has been mostly revamped. The plant is now able to mitigate a somewhat large break LOCA and inject water into the RCS quickly.
