then its some kind of tree-autist that decided to eat rocks instead of soil. it may seem like im being too demanding of realism, but damn, how am i supposed to determine what would be a more effective food? how long can they live without food? how much do they need to eat? the point is that i just know the biology of humanoid races better than the biology of races that are completely unfamiliar to me. i can just make 90cm humanoids with thick chitin

The Golems are biological, not magical. They eat rock instead of plants.

also, there is very little metal on your island (yes there are ores, use ctrl+f on metl) and in this bunkerwide resources are stored not in mystical graphs but in real storages in the form of particles that cannot appear out of nowhere (except maybe biological things can grow)
