Stenny127 7th May 2023oakleaf: keeping in touch with tradition is great and all, but spending 125mil on a pointlessly extravagant coronation while over 250,000 people are homeless and 1/5 of people are below the poverty line is a wee bit tacky wouldn't you agree? Also, it isn't only rich people that can tell people to have hope in crises

Can e please stop the needless hating on the monarchy? It's not "irrelevant" it connects us with the past and tradition and provides us with hope in tough times, when Queen Elizabeth was alive she spoke on TV during the height of Covid and when the Russian-Ukraine war started and told us to have hope, the monarchy is something continuous in a world of changing, and that is valuable. -
