geoatom, Transnistria is not officially recognized as country, it is just an autonomous part of Moldova. They are in quite funny situation now, they definitely want to help Russia but dont have enough military power to do that xD -

I think Russia wants to control the flow of information and resources as much as Ukraine and the west does. By taking the civic centers they know they'll have exactly that, along with freedom to begin installing key figures into government posts. The Ukrainians are fighting for their homes and their future as a nation, the footage coming out of some of the cities shows alot of indiscriminate damage. Places of questionable strategic importance.
