    L type brown dwarf: capable of fusing duterium, surface temperature between 1300 and 2000k they are almost main sequence stars.

    T type brown dwarfs: surface temperature between 700 and 1300k, larger and more massive than a type Y brown dwarf and some of the higher mass ones may be capable of fusing deuterium ( a hydrogen isotope).
