    Start a massive space program: Probes, mining crafts, space stations, more manned flights, experiments in space, and more EVERYTHING space related. Start researching deep space mining probes that are unmanned and can mine small asteroids. Have a deep space communication system set up with hundreds of large satelite dishes set up in our empire, with the goal of being able to communicate with anything that is in space, even if its super far away.
