    Alienoverlord: You can't summon a lightning bolt from the sky. If you somehow found a way to generate enough energy to ionize air (I.E. a lightning strike) it would just go from the barrel in a short beam, not turn into an aerial lightning bolt. Solar power is far too weak to do that. You would also need a ridiculous amount of energy in order to produce a shock to stop muscle movements, and once again, that's not possible with solar power.

    Build 5 cities, 3 in the mainland and 2 in the colony, to spread the population more. When done, build 20 more cities along areas of plentiful resources, for more wealth and resources.

    Alienoverlord: Solar power sucks. It can barely power an ion engine for sustained periods of time, thus meaning these "lightning rod" things will not work from solar power, unless you make a ridiculous massive solar farm for it.

    And they need a constant and pretty high amount of electricty to do that, both do. And according to MT your power grid is quite devastated alongside everything else.

    No, the cannons are what I'm talking about this time. The tesla guns are designed to electrocute enemies until they die. They pretty much freeze the target in place once the target is hit.

    Lightning to do any damage needs huge amounts of electricty, what solar just can't do at the scales you can use without having the solar installations bombed, and the batteries won't last for more than a second if you want your lightning guns to do more than tickle.

    The guns aren't guns, they produce the conditions for lightning to form. Any metal object above them WILL be hit.
