    As the bridge slowly melts behind them in tropical waters, they now sit atop a large island of ice. They build permafrost fortresses as they wait. Permafrost is resistant to melting and shattering.

    The Jotunn are upon the island. If the ice cannot reach it, thy wait as far as they are able to progress. 7000 Jotunn in one place will bring winter very soon, as their ice powers etch at their surroundings over time.

    ok well use fire to heat up and expand the volcano causing an eruption to wipe them out mostly

    Staying hidden in the volcano would prevent the Jotunn from getting you and with their current numbers they would not be able to freeze the volcano. But when winter comes they will.
