You are the spaceship on the bottom drifting through space. You are made out of four parts, all of which can take damage. As you drift through space, you encounter other ships you can fight or run from. After killing them, you can take their parts.

    I made a pretty good progamer move. I swapped my cockpit with a dead ship. Instant death.

    No, the way it's set up is that it overwrites initialization data with variables once it restarts, and there isn't enough space left on the disk to code for it to restart without it just going through the initialization code again.

    also is there any way to restart it after dying, other than redownloading?

    Lel yeah, but I removed it pretty early in development, and I hope it's not a mystery as to why.

    Does the swap cockpit button still work(zapping its frayed wire) ?

    I just understood how to play. It constructs two ships every frame. THe ship on the bottom is yours. You can choose to shoot, if the ship is alive, or scavenge a part if the ship is dead.

    I guess you could count the disconnected "Swap Cockpit" button pin as easter egg. :D
