@Tetratrary You can use Shift-F/Alt-F (needs to be enabled with "tpt.setdebug(8)" in Lua) to study the flow of information in subframe electronics. Also the subframe lessons should walk you through all the way to a bitshifter, which sounds like what you want? Extending to a full ALU isn't much of a step up from that, and the only reason why we don't have an equivalent tutorial for memory is because we haven't gotten around to it yet. Btw, we have a subframe discord server if you wanna chat.

@LBPHacker Fair enough. I've seen a few subframe ROMs and RAMs and ALUs scattered around the game, maybe I'll take a scientific approach to things and test them, break them, put them back together, and take notes on it.

So yes, it's very much up to you to draw the rest of the owl. Minecraft people are a very good example of whose computing tutorials you can use if you want to build computers anywhere :P As for the alienness of subframe, you just need a good HUD and a bit of practice. Schematics and block diagrams may not make perfect sense the first time you look at them either; it's the same with subframe. I highly recommend mark2222's SubframeIDE, if you're in need of a good HUD.

@Tetratrary: I see. The problem here is that none of the subframe tutorials claim to teach you anything about how computers work. mark2222 and I have decided that computing is beyond the scope of subframe, which is why our tutorials are more about subframe techniques and practices than, say, how adders work. This is because everything you find in computing tutorials on the internet applies just the same in TPT as in real life once you know how to make logic gates. (cont)
