v325 When you fully retract the rods, the reactor becomes a perfect neutron reflector, and this will cause an energy boost. This must be timed correctly, since if the reactor already increase in temperature, it might become too hot. You could try to replace the INSL pixels on the top of the ceramic part of the rods with with TTAN, so that the reactor still absorb some neutrons when the rods are fully retracted. It's impossible to spend all the fuel, there is always some green polonium at the top
It is very hard to control on late reaction stages: breif movement of rod may lead either to complete stop or meltdown :|

I messed a while with it and got it to work. Great job! Maybe one day I'll build another based on the sams tech, just more complex. :)
