    alot of the time infected cells will also be killed by the host immune system to stop the spread as well

    it varies depending on the virus. Some viruses release small numbers of new virus particles from the host cell over a long period of time, eventually killing the host cell from using all its resources and altering the way it works. Some viruses build up till there are billions of particles in the host cell, causing it to rupture and release them all at the same time. So killing the host cell can be intended, although killing the whole host multicellular organism is unfavourable for the virus

    It is my understanding(I'm no expert) that a virus uses the cells parts to replicate itself. when the cell can't hold any more, it breaks, sending virus eveywhere.

    That's not a point of virus generally. Cell's don't get crowded with viruses, they just stop working normally. Also, killing host is just a side effect.
