The point of the SALT is to spread the thermal energy out more efficiently. Blowing up DEUT by itself takes things from 0 to 4000C pretty fast, so I have to use something to bring it down closer to boiling temperature, or the steam will carry all the excess heat away and waste energy. :P Producing 400C steam is just as efficient in this game as 100C steam.

Good, but theres no point of this, why dont you just heat the water using DEUT why go the extra step with salt?

<_<; this is made of walls because they are faster FPS-wise. Making something this big destructible would be a nightmare of biblical proportions. And nope! The point of this machine is to see how much energy can be stolen from DEUT by exploding it.

I guess in retrospect using photon belts to transfer heat was a bad idea, but it doesn't matter how fast the heat moves, so it's fine.
