A massive barred-spiral galaxy one billion parsecs from the Milky Way. It is atypical in that it originally formed with four main arms. Extreme gravitational forces from a passing galactic core partially fractured two of the arms.

A bar is so called because it is a BAR. Not a blob, a BAR.

But it's not a bar!!! That's just the galaxy's core!!!

For the person who added the 'iseenobar' tag, the bar is the dense hub of stars that is vertical at this angle. The two main arms go left and right, and the 6 lensed fragments are at varied angles.

The end result is several smaller, and seemingly colourful arms which led to the galaxy's name, pronounced 'spec-tro-um'.

The gravity of the two intact arms distort the light produced in the fragments, stretching out the wavelengths to a visible degree in a manner similar to the doppler effect.
