Yeah, walls do indeed work different than elements. Specifically: they can't have any special properties including ctype, tmp, life, tmp2, temp, etc. They also have to be 4x4.
TPT works differently, if I understand correctly. Walls have nothing to do with elements, they are different int heir very principle and roots. A wall having some sort of stored data is possible, but it would be impossible to interact with it, except by console. The property tool wouldn't work on it. As I said, I am not a hundred percent sure on that, but correct me if I am wrong.
But... For example.. you want to melt iron - gold alloy and you want to have pure iron and gold... what you would use?
walls can have any name length (LIQUID WALL, POWDER WALL, ENERGY WALL etc)
