I'm trying to work out how to draw black holes and gravitational lensing in TPT. Please leave feedback in the comments.

Were you inspired to make this because of SpaceEngine's semi-mostly-new accresion discs? Just wondering.

i've started updating the accretion disc. i'm trying to make it look as much like a cloud of swirling hot gas as i can.

@kerbals yeah it is in a 3D program, i'm trying to do it entirely in TPT though, and i don't use transparent windows. but thanks for the idea! @coryman i can't place EVERY star in the right place, but since you're not viewing this from earth, they'd all look different anyway. thanks for the idea though.

@MrSpudNugget i'm not entirely sure what you mean by that since a quazar is a different type of black hole. @m3mggl yeah i could do that! thanks for the suggestion :) and you're right, but this version is just a test. @glockel thanks :D @LeroyZ258 can do, thanks :D @cikat2 i'll put it this way, if your "back door" was a black hole we would all be a little bit more dead. @docRoboRobert thank you! :D

Hm... It looks pretty good! I dunno how accurate it is, whether you placed each star and measured where it should be. That would make it look better, but take quite a while...

I managed to create this effect before It's rather easy actually... (if you use blender) In tpt use t-windows and try to copy the image behind the tptapp. I can provide an image I made using blender internal and you can trace it. ;P

What's a "back hole"? The back door?

+1 Maybe you should try to blur the line between the different colors, maybe using deco and smudge.
