    also, the order of P and N conductors matters. the right and left sides have flipped P-N bridges, which affects the behavior.

    Its due to the placement of the input: On the left side there is enough delay in the loop to allow the initial spark to pass and clear before the cloned spark arrives. this delay is absent on the right, you can see the spark move on before the cloned one makes it through the loop.
