Particles' positions and colors were calculated with a Lua script I put together. View with decorations enabled (preferably also with viewing mode 8) and unpause to watch the gravity diffuse the galaxy into a cloud of particles orbiting a central mass.

I can plop in an elliptical galaxy at any time. Having tested it just now, I think it looks even more natural than the current spiral galaxy.
-
cool it look like a spore logo and a hurrican warnning sign also a tornado from the top

Nice one Skitz

View in persistant display for Drug_Trip_Simulation +1

I was able to implement some technique known as "Spiral Density Wave Theory" with another, unrelated program. It removes actual gravity physics and just manually plots stars' positions over time to create something believable. I have no idea how I could make a script run in real time for a save being viewed by different computers. Perhaps that actually is impossible.

Now if only some kind of momentum script could keep the "stars" in the right spot...
-
kinda looks like the spore logo
-
now only if my saves could get this popular :D *wink wink*

Reminds me of spore. Good times, nostalgia kicking in.

I figured for now that I will give it three arms.
