Particles' positions and colors were calculated with a Lua script I put together. View with decorations enabled (preferably also with viewing mode 8) and unpause to watch the gravity diffuse the galaxy into a cloud of particles orbiting a central mass.

    I wonder why some of the stars get flung OUT of the galaxy instead of getting sucked in. Well, angular momentum.

    really cool simulation, but the galaxy looks more like a star than an actual galaxy since it gains a circual form over time

    but in reality this whole process would take billoin and billoins of years so any living lifeforms in solar systems would be logicly dead
