    @Chronniton I used a Crmc Qrtz mix. the ceramic coats the quartz so it don break away and the quarz abssorbs a lot of heat.

    @Chroniton TTAN is usually a good bet because it doesn't break but now that CRMC is here, that's probably your best bet.

    If only there was a material really useful for ablative heat shield material... that would be neat.
