Also, physical torture can give you bad information. If you physically cause someone pain, unless they are a massochist, they will do or say anything to make the pain stop. In fact, if you physically torture someone for long enough and ask them if they killed Hitler, they will not only confess to killing Hitler, they will tell you exactly how they "did" it.
