    "little boy" was uranium 235 bomb which used subcritical lumps of uranium to smash into eachother causeing the explosion. "fat Man" on the other hand was a plutonium bomb but it had to be imploded since the plutonium use was so reactive with itself that it would explode before the 2 lump touched each other
