I made a bigger ship: id:1865204. It is bigger than the universe
-
i made an oopsie. it could only achieve about 15614m/s^2 and even that would compress it to half its length (not accounting for relativistic effects of course) and given its gargantuan size i'm guessing it could still maintain some functionality at that level of compression.

@Death_SIlence_66 aah okay! it's still a pretty slow ship though (with relation to its size of course), it takes light 2.67 hours to travel its length and the control field has to act at the speed of light because using it to increase the speed of light inside the ship would kill everybody onboard. it still takes it around three hours to travel its own length, buuut given its length, that is a LOT of acceleration! 31228m/s^2 actually! (assuming it reaches the speed of light)

so.... this ship is 100000 times longer than the diameter of the Earth? Are you trying to compensate for something?

*disintegrate, not didintegrate...Another method would involve using 'simple' (traditional sci-fi) teleportation to instantaneously send a Nasty Thing into the Entropy from somewhere outside the radius of its field. I chose to ignore the time-travel possibilities, since presumably if that works, Entropy has already rewritten the entire history of the universe while we've been discussing it...

I would think that if both ships had equally-matched control fields, we would essentially have an Old Western quick-draw situation. If I can bring my field to bear before you can, I can just didintegrate your field generator and let gravity do the rest. But you might do it to me first...everything hinges on whose field can reach further and who can use it faster.

Ah-ha! So the control field would bend space-time into a negative curvature, which would be cancelled out by the positive energy from the ship's own gravity. Incidentially, bending space-time in this way would allow time travel.
-
One could also project a control field of equal strength to reverse the actions of this one. Then both ships are exposed to fire from their counterpart.

On the assumption that we're using equally advanced technology to fight this thing, my solution would be to travel to another universe, locate or create the heaviest black hole available (if necessary, one might for instance collapse the trillion stars of Andromeda into a singularity), then transfer said black hole into this universe, placing it inside the control-field mechanism itself.
