    Trying to get back on-topic, as tough as this ship is, it has no defence against VIRS. Virus gets PRTI'd into the ship's centre, converts it, and escapes through the two small holes in the DMND ring. Then, if the stars are switched on (an odd sentence to write!), it catches fire. Death, maybe some soap is called for?

    Mind-boggling isnt it? sometimes it makes sence, sometimes it doesnt, read the Pathfinder series by Orson Scott Card, its where I got it from.

    You are correct that there must always be a first time - but in this particular context, how does one judge what IS the first time?

    You suggest immunity to the consequences of paradox. If such a thing is possible, then what we know as causality is simply a polite fiction. If I can, for instance, prevent my own birth, yet still exist in order to do such a thing, then I would exist without being born - in other words, my entire life would be an effect without a cause.
